If you would like to study a technical, mathematical or scientific subject such as electrical engineering, mathematics or engineering in Germany and you do not yet have a recognized school-leaving qualification that entitles you to study at university, the T-course at our International Study Centre Thuringia Ask Chain Jena is the right choice for you.

Our highly qualified lecturers with many years of professional experience will teach you the subjects of German, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Computer Science and use modern learning methods to provide you with the necessary foundations for all technical fields of study.

To take part in our T-course, you need at least a German language certificate at B1 level and a school leaving (high school) certificate from your home country.

The T-course at the International Study Centre Thuringia is designed for international students who want to study a technical subject at a German college or university.

Our aim: To prepare you optimally for the internal assessment test (FSP) - your ticket to study in Germany.

What else do I need to know about the T-course?

Course duration: 1-2 Semester
Note: Semesters at the study center correspond to the length of university semesters, but do not take place at the same time.

Subjects:
German, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, English

Grades: Grades are awarded in each subject; you can only advance to the second semester and be admitted to the FSP if you have the required grades.

Final examination: Internal assessment test (FSP)

Written examination subjects:
German, Mathematics, and either Physics or Chemistry

Exam time: June or December

Admission requirements:
Certificate from your home country (comparable to the German Abitur) and German level B1. See also application criteria.

What is a T-course?

A T-course prepares foreign applicants who wish to study a STEM subject in Germany and whose school-leaving qualification is not recognized as a university entrance qualification for studying at a German university or university of applied sciences. This means that foreign applicants are taught the content and subject-specific level they need for a STEM degree course.

What are the requirements for the T-course?

Any foreign student who would like to study a technical, mathematical or scientific subject in Germany, but whose school-leaving certificate is not or only partially recognized, can attend the T-course at the Thuringia Study Centre. Prerequisite: Interested students must have a basic knowledge of German (German level B1).

How does a T-course at the International Study Centre Thuringia work?

In the T-course at the International Study Centre Thuringia in Jena, prospective foreign students are taught German, Mathematics, Computer Science, English, Physics, and Chemistry. The course lasts two semesters, i.e. one year in total. The course concludes with written examinations in German, Mathematics, and either Physics or Chemistry.
